Questions You Want Answered > Child Custody and Support > When can I modify my child support?
In Maryland, you can modify your child support if there has been a material change in the incomes of either parent, or the needs of the child. A material change is a change of twenty five percent or more of income, needs or child support. The enactment of new child support guidelilnes alone, is not enough to modify child support. The Maryland Office of Child Support Enforcement (http://www.dhr.state.md.us/csea/) will also re-evaluate child support once every three years, and if there is a material change, file in court to modify child support.
