Questions You Want Answered > Grounds for Divorce > When am I divorced?
In Maryland, you are divorced when the Judge signs a Judgment of Absolute Divorce and the clerk's office dockets the Judgment and stamps the Judgment as entered. The date stamped on the paperwok is the date of your divorce. You still can't get remarried, though, until thirty days after the Judgment is docketed, as there is an appeal period.
