The more important question is whether it's a good idea.  Adultery is a ground for divorce in the state of Maryland, and it is also a misdemeanor, punishable by a $10 fine.  Adultery is defined as sexual intercourse.  Something less than intercourse can be marital misconduct but not adultery.  So, going out with friends is fine; more than that, maybe not a good idea, and is definitely something about which you should consult an attorney.
