In Maryland, any property, or the money to purchase that property, which was obtained by way of inheritance, gift from a third party, or pre-marital funds, is not considered marital property. When property is purchased with funds that came from a non-marital source, whether it is, in fact, non-marital, is a question to be answered by an attorney.
